KASSEL'S DIARY

Between June and September 2012, Albert Serra was chosen to participate in documenta, one of the most important contemporary art events in the world, held every five years in the German town of Kassel. Faithful to his disruptive vocation, the director's chronicles of this stay, published in the supplement Cultura | s de La Vanguardia, relegate the facts to a merely anecdotal plane and focus on the aesthetic experience of the piece that Sierra had to make for the event or, more specifically, in its production process. The result is a compendium of reflections on art and creation that, following the best surrealist tradition, delight in the free association of ideas and senses.
